FTL Ship Tier List (Ship Rankings)
After looking at so many FTL Ship Tier List on the web, we decided that could put one together and complete post it here on Faindx. we have divided the 28 ships into five main tiers based on different levels of total power. Ships within tiers are considered roughly comparable in power, although they are also ranked within tiers. However, some ranking within the levels was indeed difficult, and these ships should be considered roughly equal in strength.
The ships were rated under a tough difficulty setting with the goal of defeating the rebel flagship and winning the game as efficiently as possible. Boarding ships with a teleporter doesn’t gain extra weight due to their ability to rack up high scores in the game (though we have actually factored in the extra scrap and other rewards we get from boarding).
The ranking was also done on the assumption that an experienced player uses these ships to the best of his ability. In other words, low-skill ships like the Engi A don’t gain as much weight because of their ease of use. In the end, this is ultimately a personal ranking based on our opinion. Readers of this Faindx website will know that we prefer gunboats to boarding ships, and while we have tried not to sway this list, we are sure personal bias plays a factor in this process.
