What Is The Major IV
The Major IV is the final Call of Duty League Major of the season. The event features 12 of the best teams from around the world who compete for a $500,000 prize pool. The 2022 event will be held in Brooklyn at the Kings Theater from July 21 to July 24. Prior to the events, teams from the CDL league battle it out in a qualifying tournament. This qualifying tournament determines seeding for the Major IV.
How Did New Your Subliners Perform In The Qualifying Tournament?
The New York Subliners looked amazing during the group stage of the Major IV. They achieved an incredible record of 4-1 and qualified equal first alongside the London Royal Ravens. The New York Subliners has not looked this good since the Major III of the 2021 Call of Duty League season. During the group of the 2021 Major III, they also posted a record of 4-1 and then made it all the way to the grand final. Unfortunately, they just came up short, losing to FaZe. The New York Subliners are in red hot form and will be fired up to go one better and win the Major IV crown. They also have the added motivation of being able to qualify for the CDL Champs, the World Championships if they win the Major IV.
Will The New York Subliners Make It The CDL Champs?
The CDL Champs only features the best 8 of the 12 CDL teams. The teams will battle for a $2 million + prize pool. Currently, The New York Subliners are in 11th place with a poor 11 – 13 record. However, they only need to gain 25 points to bump up and qualify.
It is theoretically possible for the New York Subliners to qualify for the CDL Champs, but they will need a very strong performance at the Major IV. Their main competition is the London Royal Ravens. The Major IV is set to be an incredibly exciting event as it is the last large tournament before the CDL Champs.
